Entry 001 | The Curator's Journal

What started as curiosity - an idea I couldn't let rest or brush off - grew with encouragement from my niece (who features along the way), friends and family.

That little idea turned into a whole new journey. No business plan, no real logic to it, just something in myself that seemed to let in a little more joy. I certainly didn't have a perfectly organised studio, let alone a fully curated Cabinet.

Just a little idea.

Somewhere along the way, that idea turned into The Orchid Cabinet. The more side quests I went on - researching, collating and creating - the more 'Characters' began to appear, eventually finding their way into the 'drawers' of the Cabinet.

More developments followed. My machines acquired names as I fussed with settings and half-finished experiments. I'm currently sat at Mac while I write and you'll meet the others in time - the little workforce that help create my ideas into packages for you beautiful souls.

So I thought perhaps I should keep a record of it. 

Not just the finished things that eventually make it onto the shelves, but everything that happens behind the doors - the ideas, the experiments, the things that go beautifully right and the things that very much do not.
